Ramen

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish that has become popular around the world. It consists of a bowl of wheat noodles served in a broth of chicken, pork or vegetables, seasoned with soy sauce or miso and usually garnished with ingredients such as pork, hard-boiled eggs, nori seaweed, green onions and other spices. Ramen is known for its rich and soothing taste and is considered a feel-good dish in Japanese cuisine. There are many variations of ramen with different types of noodles, broths and additives, and each region in Japan has its own unique version of ramen. It is a versatile dish that can be adapted to everyone’s taste.

Ingredients:

4 porciones

 

4 cups chicken or pork stock

2 cups water

1 piece kombu seaweed (optional)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons fish sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 piece fresh ginger, grated

1/2 cup green onion, chopped

200 g ramen noodles

200 g pork, thinly sliced

2 hard-boiled eggs, cut in half

nori (seaweed), thinly sliced (optional)

chopped chives (to taste)

 

Introduction:

  1. In a large pot, mix together the chicken or pork stock, water, and Kombu seaweed (if using). Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 20-30 minutes so that the flavors blend well.
  2. Remove the kombu seaweed (if used) and add the soy sauce, fish sauce and sesame oil to the broth. Mix well.
  3. In another pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, ginger and spring onions and fry for a few minutes until fragrant.
  4. Cook the ramen noodles according to the instructions on the package. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  5. Pour the cooked noodles into the broth and stir well so that the noodles absorb the aroma of the broth.
  6. In the same pan where you sautéed the garlic, ginger and green onions, brown the pork slices on both sides.
  7. Serve the ramen in individual bowls. Place a few slices of pork on top of the noodles and add half a cooked egg to each bowl.
  8. Garnish with nori slices and chopped chives (if you like).
